CQDM and a group of partners launch the CELLULE, to accelerate the development of RNA therapies in Quebec
CQDM, in collaboration with Axelys, Fonds de recherche du Québec, Génome Québec and Médicament Québec, announces the launch of CELLULE, a new model to support and finance the development of promising RNA-based technologies. The announcement was made at the BIO conference in San Diego, in the presence of Christopher Skeete, Minister Delegate for the Economy, Minister Responsible for the Fight Against Racism and Minister Responsible for the Laval Region.
The CELLULE is one of the five initiatives of the RNA mobilization project announced on April 30. This mobilizing project is supported by $20.3 million in funding from the Quebec government.
“Axelys is delighted to be taking part in this promising initiative, which will enable Quebec’s public research community to contribute directly to the resolution of major public health issues through the transfer and valorization of its scientific advances and discoveries. As we saw during the Covid-19 pandemic, the rapid and innovative development of RNA-based treatments opens the way to new therapeutic approaches that could have a major impact on the health, well-being and safety of the population, which is one of the important aspects of Axelys’ mission,” said Jesse Vincent-Herscovici, President and CEO of Axelys.
