First edition of the Boot Camp de la valorisation
Over 170 people from Quebec’s network of innovation brokers, advisors from partner research establishments, and other players who contribute to the development and transfer of innovations stemming from public research, gathered on February 16 and 17 at the École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS) for the first Boot Camp de la valorisation to talk about innovation and impact. Many thanks to all participants!
Several workshops were held simultaneously over two days, bringing together patent agents, lawyers, investors, entrepreneurs, Axelys staff and many other experts from the innovation ecosystem, including the Ministère de l’Économie, de l’Innovation et de l’Énergie du Québec (MEIE). The objective? Share real-world experiences! To identify the challenges we face in transferring innovations, and to propose solutions to help us meet them.
“We are the best in Canada in public research, and among the best in the world for the quality and intensity of our research. Let’s work together to develop new ways of bringing the fruits of this research to society, promoting them and boosting their impact“, Luc Sirois, Quebec’s Chief Innovator.
Axelys would like to thank ÉTS for its invaluable collaboration. A huge thank you for allowing us to organize this event on your premises. We would also like to acknowledge the involvement of the program committee: Ms Monika Paape (ÉTS), Ms Corinne Benquet (CHUM), Mr Grégory Hersant, Ph. D., Chemist (CCTT Network – Synchronex), Ms Samia Mihoub (Bishops) and Ms Lyne Gosselin (Université Laval), Mr Gad Sabbatier, Ph. D. (Axelys) and Ms Hélène D’Anjou (Axelys). We would also like to thank: all the panelists for their availability and professionalism. Our guests of honour: Luc Sirois, Francois Gagnon, Catherine Laporte, Jesse Vincent-Herscovici and Martin Houle. Not forgetting all our volunteers, without whom none of this would have been possible.
We want trust to remain the watchword of this event. We know that all those involved in the development and transfer of innovations stemming from Quebec public research have everything they need to collaborate and succeed, together.
We look forward to seeing many of you again next year.
